The recent purchase of Coutts Courier in Regina, by logistics and brokerage firm Frontier Supply Chain Solutions, means the company will expand its reach for clients into urban and rural Saskatchewan.
Coutts Courier is a medium-sized parcel and LTL carrier based in Regina with direct delivery to almost all municipalities within the province.
“This is a great acquisition for our company,” said Michael Butterfield, Frontier CEO and president. “Coutts will create a centralized shipping hub for us in Regina where we can deliver parcels and goods into rural urban areas.”
Coutts Courier will provide same day service in and around the greater Regina area and enhanced delivery throughout southern Saskatchewan.
Frontier’s expanded reach will mean clients’ goods are quickly and efficiently delivered to more than 450 rural and urban municipalities in the province.
In December, Frontier purchased Saskatoon- based Relay Courier. That acquisition provided a courier and parcel delivery line from Saskatoon to Regina and Moose Jaw.
The addition of these two businesses and their 100 employees, gives Frontier an advantage over its Saskatchewan competitors in regards to same day and next day delivery to most cities, towns, and rural areas.
The acquisitions also provide a logistics network between Saskatchewan and Manitoba for Frontier, while enhancing the company’s “last mile delivery” of parcel and LTL services within rural Canada.
Frontier is a logistics and customs brokerage firm headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Frontier specializes in Canadian and U.S. customs brokerage, trans-border trucking between the U.S. and Canada, international freight forwarding, and Canadian parcel and less than truckload services.
