Logistics/Rate Coordinator

Frontier Supply Chain Solutions Inc. (Frontier) is a medium sized provider of US and Canadian Customs Services, Trade Consulting, Supply Chain Logistics, including parcel and courier delivery. We are seeking an experienced and motivated logistics professional to join our Logistics Crossborder team.

As the Logistics / Rate Coordinator you will be the point person for courier and logistics rates and USA / Canada freight movement. Responding to all internal requests from our corporate business development team and inquiries from current and prospective clients, you will provide timely quotes reflective of the customers specifications logistics / courier needs based upon our fleet and carrier networks. Communicating with our clients, drivers and corporate warehouses, you will also coordinate all paperwork and timelines for freight moving between USA / Canada.

The ideal candidate will a transportation industry professional who has critical thinking, is good with numbers & numbers analysis, is organized, and enjoys completing the seamless coordination of freight. Opportunities for advancement and internal training are both available.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Create freight rates for logistics and/or courier services.
  • Ensure accuracy of the estimated and quoted rates.
  • Work closely with Logistics management to ensure pricing matches fleet availability & demand.
  • Respond and communicate all rates to sales team or external client inquiries.
  • Set up / update Vendor accounts in transportation software program.
  • Set up / update rates in transportation software program.
  • Participate in annual rate review; update all contract rate quotes.
  • Search for new carriers / vendors to add to our carrier network.
  • Track & trace / monitor shipment status and relay status to customers, internal warehouses, operational teams, carriers.
  • Data entry / email / call clients & warehouses regarding the cross border movement of freight.
  • Timely process PAPS/PARS shipments for cross border freight between USA and Canada.
  • Utilize ACI or ACE electronic manifest systems.
  • Report any carrier / customer service failures to Logistics management.
  • Act as backup to Logistics Supervisor when required.

SKILLS YOU WILL BRING:

  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills; quick to learn in-house computer programs.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accountability, dependability, and a positive, team-player attitude.
  • Excellent math skills; able to make quick calculations and assess accuracy of calculations,
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, with the ability to understand, create and amend formulas and spreadsheets.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Word, for communication & reporting.
  • Practical working knowledge of cross border freight & logistics.
  • Practical experience with PAPS/PARS and ACE/ACI processes and paperwork.
  • Hands on experience with Carrier Logistics software is an asset
  • Prior experience with Customs Brokerage software programs an asset.
  • Willingness to participate in logistics project and complete excel analysis as needed.
  • Open to development and continual learning.
  • Post secondary education with a focus on supply chain logistics is an asset.
