Winnipeg: Fleet Maintenance Coordinator

The Fleet Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the fleet basic maintenance and leading continuous improvement and transportation safety initiatives. This role works closely with the Logistics Manager and shares duties to ensure industry regulation and compliance.

Your Role:

  • Inspection, maintenance, and coordination of truck and trailer components and systems in a safe and efficient manner
  • Organize routine fleet vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • Assist in analyzing the drivers’ practices and trucks usage regarding safe driving and maintenance, take corrective actions and make recommendations on changes, additions, and updates to vehicle use policies
  • Provide advice and guidance in the interpretation, application, and administration of the Provincial Occupational Health Safety Acts Regulations and other industry regulations
  • Provide guidance and expertise to minimize operational losses, and incidents with drivers
  • Investigate and manage critical accidents/incidents and other safety events

Desired Skills Experience:

  • Mechanical background, preferably dealing with truck and trailer, engine and electrical experience an asset
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) required
  • Experience communicating with drivers an asset
  • Experience developing, monitoring, and implementing training in a trucking or supply chain environment
  • Willingness to be flexible with a positive attitude is essential as work schedules are subject to change on a day to day basis
  • Excellent problem-solving ability including the ability to recognize, assess, report and provide solutions
  • Keen attention to detail and established exemplary record keeping skills
  • A high level of initiative and commitment and the desire to continually improve
  • Knowledge of regulations and audit completion from agencies such as MPI – Manitoba, SGI – Saskatchewan, MTO – Ontario, Ministry of Transport, FMCSA
  • Strong data analytical skills required
  • Proficient MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Hold valid Class 5 Driver’s license. Class 1A an asset
  • Previous experience in Trucking/Transportation industry an asset
