Winnipeg: Freight Payable Clerk

We are currently seeking an experienced Freight Payable Clerk to manage our freight payment processes efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of freight payables, utilizing advanced excel skills to analyze data, track profits or losses and ensure accurate and timely payments to vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Timely processing of accounts payables invoices to the terms and conditions of the vendor.
• Adhering to internal financial policies and procedures.
• Completing the data entry, auditing, and processing of administrative and freight invoices.
• Verifying, reconciling, and maintaining Vendor account statements and information.
• Escalating current or potential issues to the VP of Finance.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of office experience.
• Ability to handle a large volume of transactions on a daily basis• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, and complex formulas.
• Hands on Experience with Great Plains and PowerBI considered an asset
• Experience in an accounts payable function an asset.
• Post-secondary education in accounting or related education is preferred.
• Experience with EFT payments and weekly cheque runs desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Previous experience completing one time and/or regular scheduled report generation and analysis.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Desire to learn and take on new tasks as assigned.
