Transform How You Work with CBSA

As of October 21, 2024, the CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) system became the official system for importers and other trade chain partners to account for goods and pay applicable duties and taxes owed to the Canada Border Services Agency.

CARM transforms the current methods of how the CBSA assesses, collects, manages, and reports on import revenue and trade information. The portal gives 24/7 access to CBSA and importer information, making it easier for businesses to work with the agency.

Portal Management

Business Account Manager

Optimize Your Portal Account

Optimize the creation of your Portal Business Account by appointing a dedicated Business Account Manager (BAM), such as Frontier Supply Chain Solutions Inc.

The BAM has the administrative authority to manage business relationships, approve employee access, add brokers and consultants, and ensure all portal activities align with your company's trade compliance needs.

  • Approve and set up employee access to business and program accounts
  • Manage delegation for customs brokers and trade chain partners
  • Monitor portal notifications and compliance actions
  • Review Commercial Accounting Declarations and Statements of Account
  • Ensure timely payment of duties and taxes

Primary BAM

The primary Business Account Manager should be someone who oversees your company's trade data and CBSA transactions. This person manages portal access for all users.

Secondary BAM

Appoint a secondary BAM to ensure continuity of portal management. It is very difficult to change BAMs later, so choose both carefully during initial setup.

Third-Party BAM

You can assign a primary customs broker like Frontier to assist with your CARM account as your third-party Business Account Manager and delegate specific functions.
